Sandoval County Jail Roster

The Sandoval County Jail Roster is a public resource that allows anyone to check who is currently held in the county detention center. SandovalCourt.us helps find publicly available information about current and recently released inmates in New Mexico. Additionally, data can be obtained through the official inmate search page of the Sandoval County Detention Center, by calling the facility, or visiting it in person. The roster allows you to learn the detainee's name, charges, booking date, and custody status. The detention center maintains this list and updates it daily.

Search Current Inmates in Sandoval Jail

There are several ways to check if a specific person is in custody in Sandoval County.

Online Search

  1. Go to the Inmate Search & Video Visitation page on the county's website.
  2. Click the button to download the current inmate list — it is available in PDF format.
  3. Once the PDF is open, use the browser's search function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) and enter the person's last name.
  4. Review the results: the document contains the name, gender, race, sentence status, classification, charges, and arrest date.

The system does not have an interactive search field — instead, the facility publishes the full roster as a PDF file, which is updated daily. You will need the person's full legal last name for the search. If the booking number is known, it will also help identify the record.

You can also use SandovalCourt.us to search for publicly available court information related to a specific case.

Find Sandoval Jail Booking Records Online

When a person is brought to the Sandoval County Detention Center, a booking record is created. This process captures key arrest data.

What the record includes:

  • Booking number
  • Date and time of booking
  • Charges
  • Arresting agency (e.g., Sheriff's Office, Rio Rancho Police, State Police)
  • Sentence status and inmate classification

Detention Center holds individuals detained by various county jurisdictions. Therefore, the roster may include arrests made not only by the sheriff but also by other law enforcement agencies.

To access booking records online, download the daily PDF roster from the inmate search page. For more detailed information about a specific case, use the New Mexico Courts Case Lookup — this portal allows you to find court cases by name or case number.

If you need records not publicly available, submit a request through the county's public records request page. According to the Inspection of Public Records Act of New Mexico, everyone has the right to inspect public records maintained by the county free of charge. Copying may require a fee.

Search the Sandoval Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The PDF roster published by the Detention Center is organized alphabetically by inmates' last names.

Search by Last Name

  1. Open the PDF roster file.
  2. Press Ctrl+F (Windows) or Cmd+F (Mac).
  3. Enter the last name in Latin script — exact spelling matters.
  4. If the last name is common, add the first letters of the first name to narrow the results.

Search by Booking Number

If you know the booking number, enter it in the browser's search field. The number is unique to each record, so the result will be precise.

What to Do If the Search Yields No Results

  • Check the spelling — one incorrect letter will exclude the record from the results.
  • Try variations of the last name (with hyphen, without hyphen, with apostrophe).
  • The person may have been released already — the roster only reflects those in custody at the time of publication.
  • Call the Detention Center at (505) 867-5339 to confirm the status.
  • If the person has been transferred to a state facility, check the Offender Search of the New Mexico Corrections Department.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Sandoval

The Sandoval County Detention Center inmate roster is updated daily. Each new PDF file replaces the previous one on the county's website.

Update Frequency

Updates occur once a day. This means that there can be a delay of several hours to a whole day between the actual arrest and the appearance of the record in the roster. A person arrested late at night may appear on the list only the next day.

Limitations to Consider

LimitationExplanation
Publication DelayThe record appears after processing and inclusion in the next PDF update
Disappearance After ReleaseWhen a person is released or transferred, their record is removed from the current roster
No ArchiveThe public PDF reflects only the current inmate roster, not the history of all past bookings
MinorsRecords of persons under 18 are not published
Data Entry ErrorsSometimes last names are entered incorrectly, complicating the search

For historical records or information about past arrests, contact the Detention Center directly or submit an official public records request. Court materials for cases heard in the Sandoval County District Court are available through the Odyssey Public Access portal of the New Mexico court system.
